How to password protect files, folders in windows

In order to restrict access to important and confidential files and folders, we can set a password on them. Today I will talk about something simple to do but very effective if you want to password protect your sensitive files and folders. As far as we know, many of computer users use Winrar for normal day to day compression of files & folders. Using Winrar you can encrypt and password protect your files & folders in a single click. The process is too simple. And here’s how to do this.
If you know some other ways to password protect files and folders? Please let me know by commenting below
Step 1: Choose the files or folders that you want to password protect. Just right click on it and select “Add to archive“.
Step 2: in the window that opens, just navigate to “Advanced” tab and in that choose “Set password” option.
3. Now you can set the password as per your need. Once you have finished entering your password, if you want more security, you should check the option to “encrypt file names” too. This will make even the file names encrypted making your files and folders more secure. When done, click”OK”.
As far as this encryption and password safety is concerned, it’s too difficult to break it anyway. You can not open it until you use the correct password. If you forgot the password, then is it no way to open the files or folders?
Of course not, if you want to decrypt an RAR file as you have forgotten the password, one of best choice isSmartKey RAR Password recovery which proved to be an effective way to uncover lost or forgotten passwords.
